The Minnies did not work for me. The bore on mine is .590 or real close. Had a mold made for it.

The bore of your Snider is probably more like .588 or .589. The .578 projectile will rattle down the barrel and have no accuracy and probably keyhole.

I have one of these molds, made specifically for the snider. I use and have great results with the 589-480 CCBB.

I have a Snider and use one of these molds, might want to contact Pommy directly for a current list, molds are USA made:

My buddy in Italy cuts 24-ga. shotshell hulls down to 2", loads 80 grains of Swiss 1.5Fg blackpowder and builds a card and fiber wad column to press a .600 round ball into the case mouth and lubes with 50-50 beeswax and olive oil. Good boar load, he says.

This is my projectile as well. Good luck getting your rifle up and running. Read all of the pages of information on the British Militaria forum about the Snider before you drop any coin.

Why not paper patch with the Lyman minie molds?
One of the projects I'm threatening to do is an adjustable plug because the old production Lyman molds have interchangeable plugs. So, this topic caught my eye.

I'd love to have a .577 cartridge rifle but have to satisfy the urgins with caseless rounds.
