Bought my mold today, Lyman 452460 four cavity. It's a 200 grain SWC. I also bought the handles, size die, top punch and a Lyman 4500. Hoping to have my first casting session next week.

Hey Rusty,

I just completed my first casting session a week ago and despite blundering a few details....it was incredibly easy......and surprisingly fast.

my feedback to myself (which may or may not help you).

1. Keep the mold hot

2. get either Bull Shop Sprue plate lube or anti-seeze to lupe the sprue cutter.

3. don't wait to long to whack the sprue cutter.....just after the puddles firm up.

4. If your using bullet lube as flux, don't put more than a pea sized piece in and be prepared to see some fire and smoke and smell some stink. I'm trying Ivory soap next time around.

you're gonna have a ball :)
