Been a long time since I had the urge to buy a wheel gun, last one was a Colt Police Positive Special, marked for some South American PD, back in the late 80's and I paid $99.00 for it!

Two weeks ago I saw Lipsey's had some Blued Blackhawk Bisley's in house, always wanted the flat top in 44 special and the Bisley grip just made it better!

A few phone calls and I was down to the local Lipsey Dealer here in LA and made a deposit for a 5.5 inch model which arrived about 4 days later.

Once again back down to the dealer for paper work and to pay the balance due, pick up is the 16th and I can hardly wait.

Got 500 new special case's on order from Starline, arrive 6-15-16, and I spent last Saturday casting some 44's up to lube and size.

Should have some loads made up by Monday, and we'll see how it does next week end!

Also bought a set of grips from an outfit called Altamont, a Rosewood Laminate with Fleur-de-lis checkering on them, they are already here and waiting to get on board!

I have two Ruger .44 Special Flattops (one 5.5" blue and one 4 5/8" Stainless). I had a trigger job done on both (that's the only mod). Either will shoot under 1" at 25 yards off a rest. I only had to wait fifty years for that combination. They are superb revolvers and as good a field piece as you will find.

Congratulations!

I'm pretty happy with mine too. Best loads (so far) are these two. It seems to prefer softer alloy bullets...

Bullet: Missouri Bullet Company 200 gr. RNFP (.430/Cowboy Alloy/Hi-Tek)
Powder: IMR Trail Boss 5.8 grs.
Primer: Federal 150 Large Pistol
Case: Starline .44 Special (mild roll-crimp)

Bullet: Lyman 429421 250 gr. Keith (.430/11 BHN)
Powder: Winchester 231 5.9 grs.
Primer: Federal 150 Large Pistol
Case: Starline .44 Special

I think that is one of the best looking versions of the Blackhawk they have ever made!

Pbcaster: that Lyman 429421 load is nearly the same thing I do, and it works really well in both my SB Bisley and SBH Bisley and my S&W696 too.

HM,

You'll like the .44 SPL Ruger! I have a blued and a stainless... The blued gun doesn't lead, the stainless gun has slight leading with my 6.5 grains Unique to 50/50 wheel weight/scrap lead loads.
Also use the 429421's...
Enjoy your purchase!

I like mine too.
I have the blued the stainless and the Bisley.
I just wanted the blued but the wife talked the shop owner into bringing all 3 out and then said to just buy all 3 when I couldn't make up my mind.

the 429241 on top of 7 grs of unique is all I need in them.
