Hello All,

Very nice. I made one for a 94 I have, shame it doesn't look like yours.

Very nice! How do you keep it from slipping?

Thanks for the nice comments everyone. Next on the list is a new holster :)

izzyjoe, I haven't quite yet decided if I'd make these for anyone. I almost developed arthritis doing this one :)

JSnover, after sinching it down with the lacing it doesn't slide at all. Plus, the lacing rides behind the sling swivel stud. But, for anyone that have a swing swivel stud, you could just glue a piece of thin suede on the back. This would help grip the stock. Others also sew a strap that goes around the back of the butt pad. But, I'm short arm challenged already and have never like those.

Nicely Done, I've never seen a commercial that could hold a candle to it.

Nicely done, too many hours involved to sell commercially but may inspire a few folks to make their own. Is that your design? Seems very well thought-out.

Thanks for comments and nice words.

TXgunNut, yes, way too many hours [emoji3] this was my first one. I designed it from other patterns of oak leaves, while putting my own twist on it. I hate the same ole thing on anything! Gotta be slightly different. Lol.

I guess a matching sling is in order now. I just bought a used leather sewing machine, so I guess I'm hooked.

I used to make 1911 holsters years ago. All hand sewn. That's the biggest pain in leather working. But, it can also be biggest reward and satisfaction.

I'm going to get some leather, and make one, but i can't do any tooling just leave it plain, where did you get the brass rivets?

Izzyjoe, I could make you one. I've been toying with the idea. There's many different styles which would lead to many different prices. But, we could work something out on one if you want. Just send me a pm if you'd like to discuss.

Get the stuff from Tandy leather. But, don't rule out going to hobby lobby for some leather items as well.

That is fantastic work. That carving is second to none and better than mine by a long shot.
The only question I have is concerning the grommets. Do you have an issue with them scratching the stock? I laced mine using only the holes I punched, for fear the grommet would damage the finish..

Hi Glen,

Thanks for the kind words. Trust me, you'll find plenty of flaws when looking over the piece. Lol. Yours is very nice as well!

The grommets I chose are split grommets on the back. They are also not as long as I'd normally use. Therefore, after crimping into place, they've actually bitten into the leather nicely on the back side and shouldn't hurt the finish at all. My leather is 9/10 oz and I could have have just used the lacing to hold it in place. But I wanted the bronze look of the grommets and finally found these.
