I bought a box a couple of days ago but haven't had time to shoot any yet. I plan to try them out next trip to the range.

A lGS has this ammo in 50 ct boxes. But at $12.99 a box I believe it will sit on the shelves for awhile.Robert

I bought the 400 count box for $21.95 plus tax. By today's standard, that ain't bad. I bought 6000 rounds, sure do hope it will shoot good. Wallacem in Ga

It's good stuff. Standard velocity. $29 a brick here.

One of the few that my *** Rossi R98 will digest without freezing up the extractor. (Rossi 98 Plinker, at least mine, will not shoot anything but standard velocity without excessive case expansion, making it impossible to extract the spent cases). Ran about 100 thru the revolver, and had no issues. Good stuff.

Side note..........Got a cheapo Rough Rider mini hogleg that will digest everything you throw at it. Makes the Rossi a bad buy in comparison. Shoulda saved my money, and bought an SP-101 instead of the Rossi.

The stuff IS made in the USA

I don't think there is a new manufacturing line anywhere in the USA so I wonder where or who is making it on existing equipment? And if that is true, that means that they are not making their own brand while doing the Browning 22's.

Rebranded Winchester from several sources online.

I read this several days ago from RimFire Central and thought I would post a link for those interested about the Browning ammo.

The ammunition was Browning BPR .22 LR in the bulk 400 round box. I had shot several hundred rounds out of the box before the two kabooms occurred. I don't know if there was too much primer (http://www.brownells.com/search/index.htm?k=primer) mixture or powder?
I called Browning (http://www.brownells.com/search/index.htm?k=browning) customer service on Friday but they said the person I needed to speak to was out until Monday and they gave me his direct number. I did not see on the box what might be a lot number. All I saw was Browning's part number
B194122400 and the UPC code.

If it was me, I would get out my digital scale and weigh each round!

The Browning ammunition appears to be the same as the Winchester M22 ammo. The bullet and coating look the same to me and they shoot the same in my rifles.

The forum link is about Browning's 1400+fps "BPR" ammo, while the link is for 1255fps ammo. Even if they are both made by Winchester, I wouldn't say problems with one necessarily mean problems with the other.

I have tried neither. I just haven't seen any Browning brand 22LR ammo of any time since the scarcity began.
