I just ordered one of these--they finally made the list here in California--and am patiently waiting for it to arrive, but I was wondering if any of you folks back in the US have any input on this gun. My brother has both the 22 lr and 357 versions and loves them, but he is not a caster.

I have an older SP-101 in 32 H&R mag, and some other Rugers in 327. I find them to be quite nice. I shoot cast & PCed slugs a lot. I use Miha's molds for my bullets.

I have the prior 3 inch version. I bought it because it was drastically underpriced, to "make a little on". I took it out and shot it some, so much for makin some money, it's a keeper! Mine needed a taller front sight to zero at 25 yards, I think the 4inch are adjustable. You should be well pleased, they are accurate and not nearly as loud as I expected. I shoot 311008s in 327 brass at 1000 to 1100 fps now, but it shot the Federal 100 gr factory loads well also. It also shoots the 32HR loads well. My take is that it is a small and stout varmit pistol and no matter how much powder I put behind that 120gr bullet it won't be a deer gun. My loads are comfortable to shoot and accurate. Besides, the brass will last a long time at this level! Neat little "kit gun", with more bite than my SW 31-1:)

I think mine has .311 throats, but that's trusting my memory...

Go ahead and pick yourself a Wolff spring kit, your going to need that for sure. Brownell's has them, same one as the .22 101. Great gun, accurate, light, good to carry. I've ran 325 Saeco, 31108, 311316, 311419, 313492, and a double ended wc made by Arsenal molds. It isn't picky as to bullet. Downside other that trigger pull? Not much, Do not like the front sight, but to each his own. I'll replace it when something becomes available. You will be pleased, let us know what you think after you start working with it.

Trigger pull is absolutely horrendous. And the finish on mine is atrocious. They did a poor job of removing machining marks and burrs. That said it shoots well if you can master the absolutely horrible trigger. If it was chambered in anything other than 327 Federal I would have gotten rid of it immediately. It's also the reason I will never buy another Ruger revolver off of Gunbroker.

I bought a used 2015 production SP-101 in 327 late last year, 2015,. I had never been drawn to the SP-101 platform until this 4.2" version in 327. My trigger is not bad and it handles my cast bullets well in 32 H&R and 327. The thing I don't like is the hammer pivot when cocking for single action use. It is somehow out of "balance"? I'm not sure how to describe the feel. It is difficult to cock until it "cams over", that's what it feels like. Accuracy is better than I can shoot. Maybe I need to look at aftermarket springs.
On a side note, the SP-101 is much more "user friendly" than my Single 7; haven't decided on it, yet...

I am hoping that the loads that work so well in my Single Sevens will do as good in my soon to be received SP101. I only hope that I do not have to send the darned thing back. My luck with Rugers has been pretty poor over the last few years--half of them (three out of 6) have had to go back to the factory.

My SP-101 is more capable than my Single 7 because of the longer cylinder. I have to seat the bullets deeper in the S7 than I do in the SP or my Taurus; I don't like that......

I examined two .357's at the fun store and, if the .327's are the same, you should be in good shape. The trigger pull was surprisingly good and all the parts fit together nicely. The SP I had in the early 2000's had a 40 pound trigger pull and shot low with everything I tried in it.
