Well I finally got my grips from marschalgrips from Budapest, Hungary .
They are made out of Zebra wood .
They fit like a glove and look pretty good .
Have all sorts of bullets coming to do some load testing from jacketed to cast .
This is a fay cry from testing my Hand cannons to this small 9mm .
The bullets that are shown witht the pistol came with it .
They are steel core ,not sure about that .
I am going to unload one and then cut it in half to see for myself

Nice looking grips! Steel core in a Makarov? That's a new one on me. I can believe that they have a copper-washed steel case, like it says on the box. I'd expect to see a standard lead core, but I could easily be mistaken.

Copper washed steel bullet jacket would be no surprise.

Could have a steel core, I suppose. The Germans did that with 9mm Para bullets during WWII (actually, sintered powdered iron), and of course the Commies have made billions of steel cored rifle bullets. Saves the scarcer, more expensive lead.

If I have time tomorrow I will open one up to see .
I can not find anywhere on the box where it says what the bullet is made out of and there is nothing on the box to say what the bullet weighs ???

I have some norinco in 7.62x39 and it shoots really well. I bet you that stuff will treat ya right. in the x39 it is pretty warm compared to wolf.

awaiting a full range report :)

Well I did the test today .
I used a ammo hammer to get the lead tip out and catch the powder.
The bullet weighed 95 Grains and had 3.8 grains of powder , green powder to boot ??
Here are two pictures of the bullet.
I cut it in half and pulled the lead out and there was a steel cap on top of the lead .
I had a business card magnet and the jacket stuck right to it .
What do you think .

Great grips. Did you have any problems with ordering the grips?

Not one problem.
If I remember correctly from the moment I ordered till the time I picked them up at the post office was 3 weeks.

I've got a Bulgarian Mak that I carry in my pocket for rattlesnakes. it's a damn fine little pistol. Mine really likes the Barnaul ammo as it prints right on top of each other at 15 yards. Fun little guns

Lead core with copper washed steel jacket is what I expected. I agree, I wouldn't trust the ammo to be nocorrosive.
