I've been sizing the boolits from my NOE swedish mold to suit my mauser but have decided to do away with all the stuffing around and buy a 266673 mold and be done with it.Can anyone give me the dimensions of the nose and bands of this mold when using WW alloy?. Thanks Pat

Pat303:

I have the Lyman #266673 mould. Using wheel weight + 2% tin, my boolits drop at .256" nose, top band tapers from .256" to .266". Second and third rings are .266. In my opinion these could be an additional .001-.002" larger which would give better performance. I have a LBT .267/140 SP mould that drops at .258 nose, and .267 bands that shoots substantially more accurately in my four Swedes.
A friend's Lyman #266673 mould casts slightly smaller (in all dimensions) than mine but shoots fine in his Sako custom rifle with tight (.264") bore. All my Swedes measure .265-.266 groove and .257" bore. Being cherry-cut rather than lathe-bored, Lyman moulds tend to vary somewhat. For the price of a Lyman plus a few $$, you can have LBT cut a mould that will match your rifle's throat if you send a throat slug. LBT moulds are a delight to use and cast the most consistently of any I have used. YMMV
