Congratulations,

The few stocks I tried to checker looked like a drunk and demented beaver got to them. By the time I figured out what I was doing wrong (aside from picking up the checkering tools in the first place) my eyesight was too bad let me do it.

Very nice. I can't see anymore or hold still either but when I did it, it took 4 hours for each grip panel and about 8 hours for the fore end. That is after layout.
I like the finish too Rob, what did you use?

Thanks for the compliments. This was my first skip line job and it took about 12-14 hours on the forend and about 5 hours on each side. Its a BLO finish. I like Teak Oil better but this is what I had on hand. Beautiful. My 30-378 sure would look better with a stock like that instead of the plastic it came with.

It's been a few decades since I was in La Cygne, there used to be a diner that had pretty good tenderloin sandwiches. We used to go fishing at the power plant lake.
