Norton Remelter

I know someone selling a 220 volt Norton Remelter that is approximately 10" deep. Does anyone know anything about these? I did a google search and came up with nothing. I'm thinking about buying this to smelt wheel weights. It was used in a printshot to melt linotype. He is asking $250. Any thoughts?

That's bunches more than a turkey cooker and dutch oven.

While an electric linotype pot sounds like it would work for smelting; I do all of that outside, and don't have an extension cord rated for 220 volts and that high of a load.

It might do for blending alloys once they were clean though.

I've got and electric pot about that size. 120 volt, has a high low switch and holds about 45 pounds. Don't know the brand, but it works great I use it to mix alloys. $250 seems a bit much just to melt WW.

I don't know anything about the Norton machine but it sounds interesting. Any decent electrician can make up a cord. I've made many. It won't be cheap, but not really terrible.

250 clams sounds quite high as you can build or buy a volume smelter for much less.
