I have some bullseye powder that I bought about 4 months ago and when I was pouring it out into my powder measure I noticed there was clumps of powder sticking together that I had to break apart, I have never used bullseye and was wondering if this is normal for this powder, none of my other powders never did this. I keep this powder in a temperature controlled building so that should not be the problem.

Occasionally happens, not anything to be concerned about.

Most of the times I've seen this happen, it was due to storing it in a very moist environment. Store it in as cool and dry and dark a place as you have in the house, and it should never happen again.

Some powders clump more than others. Some ball powders will clump, too. It's nothing to worry about.

Hope this helps.

Clumping is usually caused either by static or a slight surplus of residual solvent in the powder.

Using drier sheet, grounding progressive loading machines and avoiding carpeting and upholstered furniture in the loading room are standard precautions.

I've seen clumping powder. This had a 'damp' appearance. The cases it came from had inconsistent charges and I had to 'dig' the powder out. The gun it was being fired in got damaged. Not surprising since the report was inconsistent (although the damage could be caused by pre-existing excess headspace - or the excess headspace could have been caused by the inconsistent charges?)

I'm trusting your powder clumping is different in nature.

I have a bad habit of shaking my powder containers.

As "runfiverun" said, I shake my powder before opening and using. Been doing that for the last 50 years!

Why do we shake our powder, I've always done it and I don't even know why. It just seems like the thin to do.

I've been shaking my powder for over 53 years. I do it to wake it up. Wouldn't want sleepy powder being loaded into good lively cases............

A canister of powder when shaken makes a happy sound! That seems reason enough. Besides how else am I going to know how full canister is before I open it?

I give em a shake to see how much is left in the can as well! I've switched to using my left over "replacement patches" from the splatter targes. black/red dot on the top means I opened the canister and broke the seal. the big jugs are a better price point per lb for sure, but these 1lb bottles are much easier for me to handle and I don't worry about contaminating quite as much when I empty my powder measure.

I used a lot of Bullseye in 1 lb containers. I would trash this power.

Cool, dry, consistent, is your friend. Dark is nice also. Subdued light in my basement at the least.
