high standard 40

I needed a way to mount the thermocouple for my PID onto my RCBS 20 pound pot. There were some considerations that I felt were important to me and this is what I settled on. The bracket I made is based on a 1/4" X1" aluminum bar. It mounts without any screws or bolts, can be swiveled out of the way for fluxing or adding alloy, and can be removed completely without any tools.

It slides over the top part of the rod which is the mold guide.

A couple of flat washers under the aluminum bar were needed to space it up for proper operation of swinging the thermocouple to the center or side of the pot.

Here's what it looks like when the thermocouple is swung to the side to allow fluxing or adding alloy.
The design has worked great for me. This particular setup is exclusive to the RCBS pot but may provide ideas for others.
