Bad idea.....Wife is shopping at TJ Max and the Cabelas is right next door. I'll just go take a look in the gun library. A few weeks ago was at the same Cabelas and they had a refinished Marlin 92 in 32 Colt for $999. The refinish was extremely well done, but at $1K, just a bit much at this time. Although I did come home and research the whole thing and found that folks are successfully rechambering to 32 S&W Long with great results. Brass is just about impossible to find for the 32 COLT, but is readily available for the 32 S&W.

These rifles came with both a RF and CF firing pin. This one only has the RF.

Memorial Day Sale price....$650!!!... SOLD!

Dies, Brass, Mold and reamer are ordered.......Centerfire firing pin from Wiseners...Ordered. Should make a great Cowboy Action Shooting rifle...

.

Roy, IMO that rifle makes the most petite .32CF levergun, EVER ! (much nicer than a Win M-1892/92 or a Marlin 1894) .

If that came out of the CT Cabela's, methinks they're having brain farts - since I was able to glom a nice (1914) Savage M-1899H in .303 Savage a month or so ago, for chump change.

I had a pair of them the first was a Model 92 and then later I picked up a Model 1892 both in 32 RIM/CENTER fire . I had 200 pieces of brand new REM brass (found it in a gunshop off I81 north of Scranton PA before you crossed into NY State) as well as a 90 grain heel mold . I killed a couple squirrels with the guns and ended up selling the two rifles to the same guy at the Baltimore Gunshow about 4 years ago . Sold the brass , the mold and the CH4D dies to a friend in Roanoke .

It came out of the new Berlin, MA store. They also have a fantastic Anschutz Heavy Barrel in 17MkII for $1000........Smok'n deal for a neat little cartridge if you can find some.

How fortuitous that your wife dragged you along shopping!

I looked at a similar one last year here in Washington State, but it was not refinished nearly as well as the one you just bought. Had it been, we'd be comparing loading notes.

Very nice find, congrats. I've found a few unusual rifles at very reasonable prices at my local orphanage...er, Gun Library. Can we keep this our little secret? ;-)
