That mould has consistantly worked out the best in numerous M1As and M14s. It is heavy enough that the burning of a medium burning powder such as 4895 is very consistant giving consistant velocities. There is also enough gas port pressure for positive functioning of the action.. This is at velocities in the 1800-1900 fps range (if your M14 has a 12" twist you can push this to 2000-2100 fps) and still have good accuracy. The lube grooves all fit inside of the 7.62 case neck with the top of the GC at the base of the case neck. OAL is a perfect 2.82" with no lube grooves on the outside to collect dirt, grit, or grime. All around a win-win cast bullet for the M14/M1A.

I have tried numerous cast bullets in M14/M1As from 150 gr on up to 220 gr. The 311299 is the best choice.
