I dunno where you would find them, but mine has the close coupled DST setup. It is nice. Was a factory "special order" in 1904 I guess. :)

I've only seen one recently, was in an overpriced carbine.

When I built muzzle loaders I used DST for match rifles. Seen them on a few top of the line foreign bolt actions, like German ones. I really cannot imagine their use on a 94? Most give a heavier pull unset but have a very light set trigger. Guess if they are your thing go for it. The English game rifles typically did not have them and for a utilitarian hunting rifle I left them off. They were kind of a simpler way to give the light trigger pull some wanted.

Looks as if the folks at the WACA forum have given you good help. I did see a few for sale on the computer earlier this week, but can't find them now.

Why close-coupled on an 1894? --Because the lighter trigger will improve accuracy. Some of us like to help the deer during the summer; shoot the ticks off them!

If I could, I'd purchase all my 1894's with factory equipped set triggers.

Did you find parts for your 94? I am also looking for parts, prints, sketches, pictures, anything.
