I have been and still am looking for a front sight for my stainless ruger blackhawk in 45 colt.

several front sights I have found that that I like state 'not for the blackhawk in 45 colt'

ok what gives?

can anyone show me a picture of what the differences of the front sight would be between a blackhawk and a stainless blackhawk in 45 colt?

I can't seem to find one on the internet.

I don't want to waste time and money on something that won't work.

Stainless Blackhawks use a pinned-in sight blade, blued Blackhawks use a one-piece ramp with blade machined in. While anything is possible with enough gunsmithing and money; for all practical purposes the front sights are not interchangeable between blued and stainless guns. Or is there a more subtle difference you are looking for?

Well that's it for the blued and stainless differences, thanks!

I saw this when looking

http://www.hivizsights.com/product/mpslw11/

then after careful reading saw it was for the stainless blackhawks but not in 45 colt.

would it be because of the front sight height? not tall enough for the 45 colt?

Front sight height. The pinned front sights on the 45 Blackhawk are taller than the ones offered by Hi-Viz. Stainless guns only.
