I bought some 123gr powder coated bullets to try in my 91/30. Unfortunately, there is not much data on 123gr bullets for the 54r and what I can find used Vihtavuori or Hodgdon powders, while the only suitable powder I have at hand is Reloader 7. I have heard a lot of conflicting info regarding powder coating but I have never tried it, so I was thinking I would start slow and work my way up.
With QuickLoad, I have entered the following parameters:
COAL: 2.67"
Case length: 2.105"
Barrel Length: 29"
Case Capacity: 64 grains
With Reloader 7, I was thinking of loading up 10 of each level:
Grains Velocity Pmax
30 2329 20454
31 2392 21847
32 2455 23322
33 2517 24880
34 2578 26526
I am not worried about pressure so much as leading. Can anyone find any flaws in loading up those rounds?
