My wife wakes me up at 6am to a backed up sewer! The house is flooded underneath!
Man what a great day

With all the rain we got last night on top of what we already had I was expecting to don some scuba gear to get to work.... Good grief..... Creek that traverses our property is way up, just cresting the banks, hope it stays put. Already living in a mud boggers paradise.

Sorry for your woes, i'm sure that smells lovely, hope everything works out the best it can for you.

I fully sympathize. One of those happened to me in the middle of taking a morning shower. Turned off my aesthetic sense, held my nose, called the plumber.

He and his employee, "Old Knothead" came over promptly, got the nasties out of the crawlspace under the house, announced it was time for a cold beer, and headed for the bar. Amazingly, they were back in an hour, and did the rest of the job to my total satisfaction despite being obviously two sheets to the wind.

The guy was patently an alcoholic, and "Old Knothead" probably wasn't all there, but if I were doing jobs like that, I probably would be one or the other or both, too. I thanked them profusely and gladly paid their fee.

Just grit your teeth and engage a specialist. It'll be a relief when it's over.

Reminds me of a 'frog strangler' rainstorm that rolled through while I was having breakfast in a little 'Ma & Pa' diner in Houston.
I was watching a man pumping their huge grease trap just outside when the rain started and flooded the parking lot ankle deep in minutes.
The grease pumper comes inside to have a cup-o-joe while it rains…and along came the 'Mrs. Bairds Bread' truck. He quickly pulls a large tray of buns and bread and briskly heads for the front door.
In the next instant I remember that tray momentarily suspended in mid-air as the bread man disappeared into the rain covered grease trap!
I laughed so hard that I almost choked on those dry scrambled eggs!
The bread man was not amused!

I don't think he had a great day!

It's a lot like playing poker... straight flush beats a full house
