I looked around and did not see who makes it but I would guess Pedersoli has a lot to do with it. The 1 in 20 twist barrel could probably shoot 520 or 540 grain bullets okay and on one website they offer a Pedersoli sizing tool and a Pedersoli bullet mold. I have both tools and they work great and I would say the gun is a real shooter from the looks of it.

Many years ago I had a friend who had one - it was a report and I believe a Parker Hale?

We had a long range rifled musket shoot/competition up at Camp Grayling (Michigan) and we were using the 1,000 meter range that had pop down targets - hit 'em and they went down and then pop back up in to place after a certain length of time. This was back in the 80s. He brought his Whitworth along and it proved to be an excellent shooter no matter what the range.

Like bubba says . . . they are one model that a person really drools over! If I could find one reasonably priced that was used, I know I would snap it up. I don't know anything about the Navy Arms Whitworth but I also suspect that Pedersoli has something to do with them.

What are the Navy Arms Whitworth shown as price wise?

They had them at the SHOT show. They are made by Pedersoli, and look quite nice. They will also have a Volunteer, though the one they had on display was a .577 since they didn't have any barrels ready. They will be in the neighborhood of $1500.

Navy Arms is distributing that Pedersoli Whitworth and the Volunteer, and you are right, list is $1499. Navy Arms sells them thru Old Western Scrounger, but also says some metal finishing work is completed in the US.

Yes they are Hollow Base Hollow Nose as per Whitworths specs. The Hollow nose has a Wooden Plug to prevent Bullet slump.

This is a Lyman Mould I modified to lengthen the Bullet. It was necessary to make it a side pour mould to incorporate both hollows. The .580 Bullets are then swaged to size.
