Every day, when I see this thread, I just smile at how dumb I and probably many here can be in simply not realizing what a gift each day truly is. Realizing this even makes the air smell better. It's amazing how much simple appreciation for the realities that surround us changes us so significantly. It just doesn't make any sense something so "small" as simple appreciation for today can truly make in our lives, and our enjoyment of it all. I guess it's one of those things where the result is much greater than the sum of the parts? G. K. Chesterton once said that he thought that the highest form of thought was simple appreciation. I think he had something there.
