Hi guys been away for awhile. I am thinking about buying a 45 ACP and have looked at the Springfield XD. Has anyone used them with cast bootits? I know the Glock is supposed to have problems with them with factory barrels. If so what boolit do you use in them and what loads?

Thanks, Swamprat

I've shot a friends XD and he cast and reloads his, shot great.

He'd not buy something you couldn't shoot cast in and reload and have to worry about.

Nice guns, it has that "staplegun" trigger I just can't take, but if you can they are pretty good guns.

Swamprat, I have an XD45 and it has had about a thousand 45cast thru it. Mine doesn't want to feed an SWC boolit but if I load TC or Rnd Nose it shoots fine.

Never had a problem with 4000+ rounds and in all styles and weights.

I have the XD 45, and gave it to my brother. I heard of issues with 200gr SWC bullets feeding. So I bought the Lee 200gr RN mold. But I read that the XD can be modified to work with the SWC shape.

XD 45 is great gun. Only common complaint I hear is cosmetics.

Grip can get a little loose in my sweaty hands. Grip tape helps. Or maybe a stipling job.

Many rounds down range through an XD with cast! SWCs don't seem to do real good though.
