I'm at Cabela's in Fort Worth and I stumbled upon some 3.5" 600 gr Lightfields slugs.

I remember I reloaded one of 770 gr cast slug in a 2 3/4" Fiocchi hull.

Is there anything wrong with this? What issue could occur from firing a heavy slug in a short 2 3/4" hull?

Ive been reloading 520 grain slugs in low brass AA hulls for years. Even heavy loads have never had an issue. Ive shot thousands

Only problem with heavy slugs in 2.75" hulls is restricted powder volume.

I load 600 grain fullbore slugs in 2.75" low brass and have had no problems. Unless you are using Sr 4759 of rl17 you will still have extra room to fill to get the proper crimp height.
