270 Winchester

I have a 1950 Mannlicher in 270 than I would like to load using a NOE 279-160-FN2 GC. I have the mold, the boolits, and the gun. No idea what powders to use. [smilie=b:

Does anyone load a 160gr boolit for the 270?

None of my books shows anything for 270 with a bullet that heavy

Same problem I am having. I have found references at 160gr and 180gr but they are all for jacketed.

16.0 of 2400 or 4227 should work just fine with that heavy boolit.
Maybe 13.0 of Red dot

NOE has some RD data for a NOE 269-154 that weighs 166gr. Could be a good reference to start with. Go to the NOE site and check out Ranch Dog's Quick Loads for RD molds. It has a link to ranch dog outdoors. Sorry I can't post it here.
