How do short nosed bullets feed in Win 94?

I am considering a cast bullet design like the 30 cal. soupcan. How do these short nosed bullets feed in a 1950's Win 94?

Try loading some empty, resized cases and see if they will feed. If they do, the "soupcans" will probably feed also.

You could seat a cast backwards with a bit of lead exposed similar to the "soup can" you want to load.

I load 30 carbine bullets (short round-nosed) frequently in my Model 94 for plinking, and they feed just fine-- don't know if this is similar or not from your description. I also use Hornady & Speer short jacket 100 grain which are very small, and they feed fine.

I have shot 311008 and 311440 in my 94 with no problem feeding and good accuracy

The Lee 314-90-SWC designed for the 32ACP loads from the tube a shot beautifully in my 1894 and marlin 336.

Depends upon the gun. My 1940 era '94 doesn't feed short-nosed bullets at all, when the action is worked vigorously the lifter pops up and short-nosed rounds rise past the cartridge guides and strike the chamber entrance at 12:00. Cartridges of 2.4" or longer OAL don't have this problem. I got around this for light loads by having Tom at Accurate molds cut me the 31-155D plainbased bullet, which I load with 4-5 grains of Bullseye for small game or 18 grains of 4064, RL15 or Varget to approximate .32-40 power levels. The 31-125D is a similar, lighter bullet with shorter nose, if your rifle will feed it. There is also a scaled up 36-245D for the .35/.30-30 and .35 Whelen, which I use in those calibers with 8 grains of Bullseye.

321427 __<this is a light weight G/c 32 Special plinker. Being 135-140 gr home cast Lyman Mold it has a very small nose and feeds exceptionally well.
