Hi folks, AFJ here with my first post. I have lurked for a while, with a bad case of Hollywood press envy. With some dumb luck, I fell onto a Hollywood Sr. turret press, with some accessories, locally. Since I live in the middle of Montana, this was a very lucky find. I really didn't realize just how big these are. Do any of you load 50 bmg on yours? I was wondering if there was enough leverage.

Nice find. I am not too familiar with the Hollywoods but that looks like a good specimen and looks like you got the gear to go with it.

Nice find. And the accessories are very nice, especially that wrench.

I know that people have reloaded .50BMG on it, although it must have been a bear to FL resize those cases on a press w/ no compound linkage. I use mine with the swage bar to resize .308 MG brass. It is the only press I have right now that does not flex.

I wonder if Tracvision can duplicate the wrench? I would like to have one.

Not sure about doing 50. But I'm green with envy.

I wouldn't want to be the one hanging off that handle trying to size 50 bmg.

that wrench could be duplicated by anyone with a water jet cutter and some plate steel.

Nice find. How much did it set you back?

Hi,
Uh, oh, that's a question that can hurt!

I bought my first Hollywood Senior (iron) for $10 at a gunshow!!!

I think LubeDude is still mad!!!

Nice pic. I don't care for the ink, but the rifle can't be beat. I love mine.

And I've actually been in some places where they actually know what they are doing!!!

Maybe Ive never noticed, but I've got a silly question. This is a turret press, but how do you move the turret around to the different die positions if it's locked down with the upright bolt? I'm pretty surprised that there are ZERO Hollywood press videos on YouTube. Am I missing something?

AFJ, congrats on a rare and beautiful set of Americana!

It's only locked into position for swaging. The vertical bar is removed for normal reloading.

Wow, thanks for the replies. This set-up cost me a reasonable 350 bucks. The support rod on the front, as I understand is for swaging, comes off for standard turret operations.

There's a warrant out for your arrest for "Grand Theft-Hollywood". You got a great deal on a great press. The extras that came with the press are worth a whole lot by themselves.

Enjoy that Hollywood and don't let it set idle.

AFJ that press is awesome and you got a great deal on it. I recently got a Hollywood Senior and its quickly becoming my favorite single stage press. You are going to love that turret press!

AFJ You can also use your press as a jack to change a flat tire. So said the last maker of Hollywood presses.
