I was fortunate to have recently scored an eight pound keg of 5744. I didn't buy it specifically for use in the blackout, but my initial experimentation with it has been very promising. In fact, it is rivaling my traditional supersonic loads using H110. It has been giving very good accuracy for me. Anyone else using it in their blackout?

One of my first load tests was with 5744 and 150g jacket sp load was hot (primers were still in and looked ok / brass looked ok but when I cleaned and went to reload cases Primer pockets were inlarged 60 plus pcs ---- data was from the internet (very reliable source ) as there is almost no printed data yet for the BO

My rifle yet has seen a factory loaded round ( none around or $2 plus a round)

I later found data at sierrabullets.files.wordpress.com/2013/07/300-aac-blackout.pdf using this data is very close to my actual results and I have had no problems with it yet.

NOTE the hot data I found has not been changed ----so load with caution -------- trust the sierra data ------so far:-)

checked what primer I used CCI 400 -- I do not know if this was some of it ???

Looks like a good match for the 300 BLK based on data above. I know some (here) prefer this over the slow pistol powders as they seem less problematic for them.

Ive be only loaded with 296/LG personally and have had good success.

Using this data I got enlarged Primer pockets
if you look at 150g /5744 Data is around a full Grain heaver than Other Documented data

and I was not at max per the Accurate data

You used same case, same bullet (not just weight), same primer as them?

Thats why we always start low and move up watching signs of pressure (or excessive speed=indicator of overpressure)

5744 is excellent with reduced loads. Using this formula(s) if dealing with reduced. It works.

I use WWC680 for heavy bullets and 5744 for medium weight (I don't use under 155 much cause the Lee/NOE Harris works so well)
One thing to remember is that throat and gas port position can have a lot of effect on your satisfaction with 300 blackout.

I've found that 5744 and Lilgun can build pressures too high very quickly in my .300 whisper.
