You guys ever run into this?
I shot a bunch of test loads that left moderate leading in the bore with lead streaks to the muzzle, (an unacceptable amount for only 50 rounds.) So then I ran through another forty or so of one of my favorites: A #358477 over AA #7. In this case it was 10.8+ grains, and the bullets were near linotype in hardness. By the time I was done, there was barely a smudge of lead left in the bore.
Now I've had loads that progressively deposited more lead, and most stay about the same after the first dozen rounds... but progressively better?
How many do you think I'd have to shoot before the gun was restored to NIB condition?
