I've had very good luck with the PC'd bullets and loads I've found here up to .45-70 550 grain. Now I need your ideas on a load for a SAECO 650 grain round nose, flat base bullet that will be powder coated.
My rifle is a custom built .50 Alaskan ( .50-100-750 ) designed to fire the .50 BMG bullet at 1,200 fps using a .50 BMG M2 barrel cut down to 32" on a Remington Rolling Block smokeless powder action. It shoots very, very well.
I have seen loads up to 34 grains of IMR-4198 pushing a bullet of 500 grains which is jacketed. ( Cape Buffalo load).
My needs are for a long range load for the PC'd bullet.
Seating depth is not a concern as the rifle has a long throat for shooting the BMG bullets. I'd like to get around 1,100 fps.
I'm enjoying playing with PC'd bullets and have had very good results at 500 yards with several calibers so far.
What say you?
