well today i took out my 444 in tc encore(23" barrel) and some boolits to see what i had. the 220gr wc(montana bullets) and the 250gr hp(bull shop bullets) are for my soon to be super blackhawk(44 mag) with a 4 5/8" barrel. the 280gr wfn gc(montana bullets) is for my 444. i tried loading them all up some unique at about 1200-1400fps.

all groups are at 50 yards and the red target is 1 inch
the 220gr wc(15bhn) were like shooting a cap gun. the was almost no recoil.
no 1 did NOT like unique at all. 12.0gr was not it.
no 2 is 13.0gr and it shows some promise, i'll load it some 14 and 15gr of unique and it might show us what the encore might do.

the 280gr wfn gc(15 bhn) was like shooting a 22lr. just a little bit of recoil, but not noticeable.
no 3 did NOT like 13.0gr of unique
no 4 did like 14gr of unique,(i shot 4, not 5) i'll try 15 and 16gr next.

the 250gr mihek hp(8 bhn) was about the same as the 280gr. no recoil, barely noticeable.
i was worried that it would cause some leading, but it did not.
no 5(i know, i didn't mark it 5 but 1) is the best yet. i put 2 shots into 1 hole and then i got confident and screwed the pooch. the lower left hole was my fault, i pulled it a little bit, but i really like this one. it is 11.5gr of unique.
no 6 does not like 12.5gr of unique.

i think i'll keep a couple of the 250gr hp handy, there's all kinds of varmints out there. the 220gr wc i didn't expect much, those are for my super blackhawk just to shoot.
the 280gr are basically the encore and rel7 boolits. although i might try them in 15-16gr of unique.
the 250gr and unique are going to be my deer hunting boolit with the ruger sbh that i'm going to use with the 44 sp. it will be under 50 yards, 30 yards more likely.
these boolits will take a deer down at 50 yards, whether its a 444, 44 mag or a 44sp... but its sure fun to do!!!!
