In the rack at The Store is a M1867 Danish Rolling Block in 11mm. It's advertised as being "80%, with original wood and good bore". The wood is worn, the bore is good, it functions as it should. I've read a lot about these guns being converted to 45-70.
They're asking $525, which seems reasonable. Any opinions/ideas on the rifle, the price, what to look for, etc?

Battis,

The Danish rollers are usually 11.7X51R. Most of them were converted from a .46 caliber rim fire round. The center fire cartridge is a bit shorter and slightly fatter than a .45-70US cartridge. Many of these guns has a .45-70 reamer run into their chambers when imported so that .45-70 cases would fit. Nonetheless, correct brass is available from Buffalo Arms. They shoot quite well when you find the right components. The "Dutchman" who posts on here is the real expert on these guns, so do a search and you will find lots of info. $525 is a good deal if the gun is in reasonable condition. I have one and it is as good or better than a modern made rolling block except for the pricy brass.

My focus area is Swedish rolling blocks. Not so savvy on Danish.
