I just got off the phone w/ Dillon about having jamming problems in the powder measures using small charge bars and win 296. After reviewing our archives I see this is a common problem. I have loaded probably tens of thousand of rounds on my 2-550's and never had any issues with powder bars other than maintenance cleanings.
After talking with customer service and explaining the problem he reccomended I use the large charge bar. I am dropping 21 grains of win 296 under my swaged 270 grain jacketed 44 mag bullets in new star line cases and federal lpm primers.
Have any of you tried the large bar for 296/110 to solve jamming?

No. I never experienced jamming, but a little leakage I did. http://www.doublealpha.biz/arredondo-powder-drop-slide-bar I bought this and the leaking went away. Uniquetek sell this with a micrometer installed, but that was too pricey for me.

Also, here is a video of a guy changing to the large charge bar for H110. He set it for 18.5 grains. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eqrNFEENY3E

I only use the large bar with H110 and haven't had any problems.

Same here. H110 is generally considered the ideal powder for measures because it meters so well in so many different measures.

I'd have to change over too.
many of my small bars only get to about 19.5 of stuff like 2400 and H-110 before I start wedging things tight.

Did you, by chance, speak with Gary?
