Spent the afternoon hand sorting wheel weights for 40 cents a pound today! In one bucket there is a piece of lead pipe that looks pure. They have a bunch but didn't buy allot until I melt the sample down. Does it look pure to everyone else? I easily bent the pipe. Thanks in advance. Boats

the pipe should be fairly soft and melts nice but it does have a lot of dross.

Lead pipe is generally pure lead except for the "wiped" joints (lumps that look like a snake has swallowed a rat whole) which usually contain a fair bit of tin. PLEASE make sure that there is no moisture in the pipe before you throw it in a pot of hot lead!!!!!!

The pipe shoupd be pure close enough to treat it like it is.If you ar going to cast pistil boolits a 50/50 mix of Coww and the pipe would be great.so if you don't have more soft led go get more of the pipe.as said above take care melting the pipe stsrt with a cool pot and don't put any pipe in a melted pot
