10 years ago i told that guy i really liked that rifle.
he called me and asked if i wanted it.
i said YES how much, and can i come over right now?
he delivered!
the only wear anywhere is on that feed ramp as shown in the photo.
not one scratch ,no minor dings ,nothing.

You will not look back; Well done, I believe if it is really what you want, then you will be hope with it.

We would however, appreciate a few more details? "The devil is always in the details."

Who made it and when?

Barrell condition and form (No. grooves etc.)?

Headstamp of the ammo? (Watch out for the MK IX Ammo. Heavier projectile and charge; normally for MG's. Should be included in the headstamp.)

From the photo's it appears to be in excellent condition.

Again; congratulations, well done,

John

Sweet! You are a fortunate fellow. :drinks:

Indeed, a very fortunate fellow.

You may need to 'pull' the projectile and weigh one to see what Mk of ammo it is.

The local club had a member several years back who was using that headstamped ammo in a No. 4 without a problem.
It was sold through a local importer/dealer but has since 'dried up'. It is a good clean ammo to shoot.

The photo's show the rifle to be a very good clean unit; again, well done. Singer rear sight as well, excellent.
Enjoy your purchase,

John.

Very, very nice. That Greek (HXP) ammo is good stuff too. Very hard to find these days, as well.

Those rifles were selling for that price in that condition quite a few years ago now. You should have hugged your friend's neck when he brought it over.

That is a beautiful No:4. I had to pay 650€ / $1000 for mine with re-loading dies, bayonet and 20 rounds!

At $300 dollars you got a absolute bargain a similar rifle over here (unfired) is currently up for sale at £620 pounds, or about $1200 dollars.

The HXP ammo is a good quality round, i still have a a couple of boxes, and a whole load of empty cases tucked away.

Thanks for the pics,

Closey
