I think I have found the load I want in my Beretta. The gun is a two toned 3032 Tomcat Inox. BTW, I was concerned about the two tone finish i.e. Stainless slide and barrel, the frame black anodized aluminum. I called Beretta and was assured that all the Inox guns have an alloy frame with SS slide and barrel. Most are finished to match the stainless, but they do turn out the two toned models on occasion.

Anyway, the Accurate 31-077B cast from COWW, sized .311" atop 2.2 grains Bullseye averages (20 shots) 830 FPS from the muzzle of the little Beretta. It functions well, is accurate, and I think I should not be straining the gun with it. I am happy.

But... there is that 87 grainer that Outpost75 uses...I still may have to try that sooner or later. :)

Sounds like fun. I've really been wanting to pick up a Walther PP in 32 acp to replace my fathers that "went missing".

I always appreciate when members post the chrono numbers for their loads. It helps anybody trying something new to do trial and error with less error!

Those numbers match what I get with the same load and Accurate 31-076 in my Kel-Tec.

I bought a Tom Cat to replace my stolen Walther PPK...and didn't like it all. It doesn't come close to being a Walther PPK. That's been the only gun I ever traded in on another....a Ruger MKII !
I found the Tom Cat bulky , heavy and had a heavy trigger pull. I did like the pop-up barrel feature...but that was all I liked.

I REALLY enjoy my Walther PP in 32 ACP. It gets a LOT of shooting, and got carried for CCW before HR 218 torpedoed most of my handgun collection as usable carry arms. The 32 ACP has been far more accurate for me than has the 380 ACP, though for felon repellent the 380 might be a better choice. Neither one is especially decisive, and Col. Jeff Cooper once opined that if you were going to settle for a "pocket blowback" that a 22 LR might be as viable a choice as the 32 or 380 ACP. FWIW.

6th Texas, do you find the Tomcat shoots to the sights with those 77 grain slugs? Also, how far does it fling brass?

Here is where the 87-grainers shoot in mine. Sandbagged at 7 yards using 6:00 hold. Ejection pattern with 2 grains of Bullseye, 790 fps, about the same as RWS 73-grain hardball. With 5.6 grains of Alliant #2400, 825 fps, into low earth orbit over Ohio, but I don't consider those rounds for steady regular use.

The thought of using 2400 in the 32 ACP always brings a smile to my face, Outpost.

My Tomcat shoots about 2" high @ 7 yards. Brass goes all over. Most go to my right rear about 3-5 feet, but some will hit my hat brim, both front and back. I guess that is because it does not have an extractor.

The Tomcat is not a Walther PP, but it is a fun gun to shoot! Mine has what I would consider a decent trigger pull. Not great but decent for what it is. I don't carry it if I can carry my M60 S&W or my SP101, but it certainly fills the niche between those two revolvers and a pair of running shoes! In fact it is in my pocket as I type this.

Works in the .380 ACP also!

I also put some new pants on the Beretta the other day. I wanted some mother of pearl for a "pimpy" look, but couldn't find that and had to settle for walnut instead
