H&R 28 ga

I am trying to identify a 28 ga H&R single barrel shotgun. I don't see a model number. Serial number 245284. Pic attached. Any help appreciated.

Guessing here, but possibly the Model 48 Topper?

I never knew H&R serialized any single shot shotguns until federal law required it in 1968. and to be technical, a firearm's S/N should be on the frame, not the barrel.

My guess, is Model 47, Topper Deluxe, same as 48 except chrome plated, mfg. 1947. Didn't know they did 28 ga. for that model. top lever barrel release makes it pre 1977. Is it rebounding hammer or transfer bar? Purely guessing, I could be wrong.
