Wasn't that a mold Lyman custom-made for E.H. Harrison (NRA, Cast Bullet Handbook) to test paper patched bullets?

Maven is right about the mold being the E H Harrison paper patch mold from Lyman. We finished an NOE group buy here a few years ago. We did 4 of them and I bought all 4:

301-618. 172gr. 4 cavity
301-620. 212gr. 4 cavity
303-618 172gr. 4 cavity
303-620. 212gr. 4 cavity

These are all gas check, paper patch bullets. They have several very shallow grooves, not to hold lube but to aid in keeping the patch on the bullet. The 301s are patched up to 308 and the 303s are patched up to 310 or a little larger. I got all of them because we'll probably never see them offered again.

Bob

I see I finally hit 1000 posts. Took 5 1/2 years to do it.

Not that there is a lot of demand, but this diameter is a correct fit for the 7.35 Italian Carcano. Double duty mold??

minmax - you weren't alone. I saw it as well and was wondering the same things. Glad to read the posts and get a little education on it just for "education sake"! :-)

Well at an auct ion 2 bidders or more that wont give up ( the new mentality at autions seems to be I won this) amkes for interesting prices and scenes. LOL..... I seen a 700 rem with a budget bushnell scope on it go for 1 1/2 times the price of a new rifle with a lepould scope. 2 bidders that wouldnt give up. At any auction online, auction house or estate you really need to do some home work and know what the item is worth and what your willing to go before you start bidding.
