Hi everyone. Been looking for a while and now i can post my first thread. Is someone here tried lil'gun in 375 win. I've seen people here using aa1680 and since it's close.. If so can you tell me where to start with lyman #375449 bullet. ( forgive my English, i'm French Canadian)

I know little about the 375 Winchester or the use of lil'gun as a powder for it.
But, off hand, I'd stick to published loading data for a more harmonious outcome.
If lil' gun is listed as a recommended powder start low and work up you load.

P.S.Welcome to our site.

I do use 1680 in my 375 Winchesters and at some point will step back to an even slower powder.
if the lil gun is slower than 1680 then using it's data will be safe and you could go a little beyond it for maximum.
if it's faster use a faster than it is powders data to get started.
remember that the straight walled cases do not show pressure like a rifle does an most rifles shooting the 375 win are on the 'springy' side which also hides pressure some but doesn't do the gun any good.

I'd look at the RL7 range of powder speeds. Li'l gun is a pistol powder.

Lil gun is much more kin to h110/ww296 than 1680 ( just to state the obvious ) fwiw most ball do not reduce well ( eg; near case fulls for best results ) aa2200 rocks in the 375 win aa1680 is also great with full tilt boogie loads ,like 5r5 I suggest slower powders ( h322,4198 etc come to mind )
Also of strong note is just because a powder is near another in burn rate speed in no way shape or form means that it's near identical or has identical uses ,true some are but many are not ( especially when it comes to Magnum type pistol powders and those others close by in burning speeds )

Boolits or j-words ? I worked up a sweet plinking fireform load that ended up being such a pleasure to shoot that it ended up being my main squeeze , it uses unique and about any cast boolit,I have other loads worked up/out of course but ....that load assuredly isn't broken
Sadly imr 4759 also rocked with cast but ...the powers that be decided they'd phase it out

Lil'Gun has no equal or likeness. Do not use it if it's not a listed powder. In the hornet H4227 it is far faster than Lil'Gun but in the 303 Brit it is the other way round. It's not listed for the 375 Win.

I tried LilGun in my BigBore, back in 2002, according to my records. I was shooting a cast bullet from a Lee mold, that weighed 272gr. I used a standard large rifle primer (WW), in WW 375 brass, and it shows that I settled on 22.0gr of LilGun. My chrono record showed an average of 1807 fps, and my notes said it produced a nice, round grouping of around 2" for 9 shots at 50yds. Group size was most certainly my fault, as my eyesight isn't near what it used to be.

I had also tried the same load, using blown out 30-30 brass, and curiously got an average of 1737 fps, with a 51fps extreme spread.

Hopefully this will help give you an idea of where to go with loads... by all means start lower than my loads, and work your way up to what level works for you, but that is what worked in my rifle. I also used AA1680, and Rel 7.
