Talked to a guy today who has about a hundred or so once fired brass from a Desert Eagle he had about 20 years ago. I don't know what name is on the brass. What's a ball park figure?

Head stamps play a roll in this, as well as to there condition. Although I'm fussy about what I use I really wouldn't go over .10ea since brand new stuff (delivered at Starline) goes for .20ea.

One thing about the DE, or was when I shot one back in the early 90's, is that the extractor tore the hell out of the rimmed cases. So you might want to get pictures of the brass first.

Or you might ask him to just give them to you. .44 Magnum Brass is not uncommon in any way, I picked up about 25 at the range yesterday. If the guy only has 100 and no gun to shoot, then taking them off his hands would be a favor. It has little value beyond that other than a "Banked Favor" for use later.

If they were new unfired it would be a different story, then they're worth new price, but fired you have no idea what you are getting.

Hopefully he is not looking to get rich on these. If he is, let him keep them as an investment.

So 20 bux for the brass and 20 bux a box for the bullets. 60-70 is retail so offer him 50.

When was the last time someone had trouble selling once fired 44mag brass on any forum?

When was the last time someone came up to you and offered to give you once fired bigbore brass?

When was the last time that you looked at brass and could not tell what kind of condition the brass was in?

And, lastly...when was the last time that YOU gave away, popular bigbore cartridge, once fired brass?

It hasn't been much more than a year since you could not find any kind of brass, anywhere...and now, once fired brass is worthless.

I had a Desert Eagle .357mag about thirty years ago. It did bulge the cases at the base. I think the remaining pressure was high in the chamber when the bolt was opened?

Decades ago, GONRA'S .44 MAG Desert Eagle shot Just Fine with my moderate handloads.
(240 grain .429 diameter Speer JSP #4457 bullets, 1.615 inch OAL 16.0 grains Blue Dot powder, CCI #350 primers)

This (with a Timney Trigger Job, probably no longer available) is (believe it or not)
is a real Bullseye Target Pistol!
