I had earlier mentioned that I was using up various partial cans of powder in my .32's and .45 ACP's. In .45 ACP I recently finished off my last bit of Red Dot.

My next powder is a four pound caddy of Dupont P5066. Yep, it hasn't been seen on the shelves in twenty years or so (maybe longer). At any rate, someone on here had supplied me with a page from Dupont's 1964 reloading guide.

I ended up using 5.3 grs behind a 200 gr SWC cast bullet (in the .45 ACP). Monday, I finally got around to shooting this load. It shot extremely well and I was surprised at how much cleaner and much less smoke there was from this powder (than Win 231 or Dupont 7625). I am going to be sorry to see this go. I have enough for about 4000 rounds, so it will last a while.

Some old NRA Bullseye shooters had told me it was an excellent powder but I had always used Bullseye and later 231. The P5066 measures very well in the Dillon powder measure, also.

I agree. I am just under 2 pounds of it left with one of the cans still wrapped in plastic.
