I'm looking for a mold for my 510 Whisper.
I have no desire to use a gas check through a suppressor.
Rockrat's big 850gr would be perfect if it were plain base
CBE has a 975 GC that they will cut short of the gas check shank, but the two I've measured Bullets from cast small at 0.509"
Any other suggestions?
a big BPCR Postell style might be ok, but I've never seen one over 600 grains.
Input appreciated

Accurate Moulds. Call him up and tell him what you are looking for and he will likely build it exactly.

Hi, I am keen to hear what you find out.
I am about to build this rifle, I have the donor action and the chamber reamer but want to know about the bullet before I select the barrel. I am told that Lead bullets prefer a different twist rate.
I am also keen to know what base you select, perfectly flat, tapered, less than .510 or exactly .510...... Etc
FMJ projectiles in .510 are about $7 each here in New Zealand but I have about 200Lbs of lead lying around so getting into casting is a no brainer.
Couldn't you use a gas check design just without using the check?
Otherwise Accurate Molds will make a very good mold very fast.

Mill the GC off Rockrats design? You would probably end up at 830 grains. Or you could have the GC reamed out and gain a few grains of weight.

I want to see what happens here as well. I am not looking for a subsonic .510 but rather something that has proven accuracy at distances past 800 yards.
