Has anyone used cedar wood to make carcoal for making bp ? I was cutting some up today and thinking its such a light wood when its dry that it might make real good bp. Ive had good success with willow and spruce over the years . The only thing i was worried about was the sap but on cedar it seems to be to the outer part of the logs , just under the bark i think. If anyone has tryed using it please let me know if its worth using or not . thanks - ron

It is a very good wood for charcoal. One of the best. Eastern and western cedar are commonly used.
