I had a .22 barrel liner from Brownells sitting on my bench next to some shot gun primers, it got me started thinking. So I copied the Stevens crack shot #26 page from the Frank DeHaas book "Single shot rifles and actions" . Scanned it into my computer, then stretched and printed until I had a paper pattern that fit my hand. Then I made as many copies as I thought it would take to cut out each of the pieces. I took some 3m spray can glue and glued them onto the steel. I drilled the holes where the pictures said then cut to the lines with a .045 cut off wheel on my grinder. I made the spring guide on my little Harbor freight lathe, but it could be made with a drill press. I bought some DOM that the barrel liner fit into. Coated the liner in lock-tite and pushed it in. The receiver ring was drilled and taped for a set screw, then welded onto the side plates. I glued a .22 round ball onto a shotgun primer then measured it for a reamer. I lathed up the profile to match the round, the cut half of it off with my grinder, oil hardened it, and cut the chamber. My dinner is ready I'll type more later.

When you get the time, I'm waiting with baited breath for the rest.

Curious about barrel attachment and twist and (if you don't mind) ballpark cost of such a project.
