I was cleaning my leather holsters and mag pouches and I happened to remember a bottle of leather balm purchased long ago. The name of it is Weather Spirits, made by the Vangard Chemical Group for Wal-Mart. It does not say anything about being flammable and contains carnauba wax, silicones, and lanolin.
Now I'm wondering if it's worth mixing with some beeswax and/or paraffin ?
What says the hive mind ?
Thanks, Dennis

silicone has a tendency to break down under heat and pressure and get gummy or gritty.
its a silica base like sand to begin with.
the other stuff is easy enough to get.
paraffin and carnuba is what is in johnsons past wax.
and lanolin is easily found in lanosil, a nipple cream for nursing mothers.
unfortunately paraffin and carnuba make a bees wax lube get brittle if it's not tempered by a plasticizer [mineral oil]
but in the right proportions and tempered properly they do bring some desirable traits to the table.
