Anyone happen to know what twist rate Browning used in their Miroku 1885 Low Wall copies for .223 and .22 Hornet? I have a shot a either one - But need to know the twist before I decide.

The 22 Hornet is 1-16" and the 223 is 1-12".

I have one in .22 Hornet and have measured the bore dia. and twist on four separate occasions and come up with a.223 dia. bore and a 1-17 3/8" twist!! I know it's advertised at 1-16 but this one is definitely not.
Have been trying to work up a load in the 1900fps range using the noe 225107 in both gc and plain base using pure linotype. Best 50 yard groups have been 1 1/4" and not consistent. Very frustrating.

That's interesting. A twist of 1-17 3/8 sounds awfully slow for the Hornet

I'm sure they used rim fire barrels to make the hornets

The standard twist for a 22lr for a 40 grain bullet is 1-16".
