Hi guys,

Wanted to know what loads you guys have for 357 Magnum warm to hot loads for the H&G #50 or the Lyman 358495

I've checked my Lyman's 49th, Cast 4th ed, and Lee but haven't found enough info to my satisfaction.

I have Blue dot, 2400, Longshot, & some IMR 800x available.

Nothing on the alliant site except BE-86.

Got any good load data sources, or info? Thanks!

Jmort that is excellent, thank you!
Which edition is this from? It's absent from the Lyman 4th

"Which edition is this from?"

Not sure. Got it from Load Data and they publish a lot of info from the 3rd edition. I don't have my 3rd edition handy so I can't say. I would use it and trust it, but that is me.

Bullets are Oregon Trail (Laser-Cast)148gr DEWC. Bullets were seated all the way into the case with a slight roll crimp over the top. Produced a 1" stretched hole @ 12 yards with 6 1/2" Ruger BH. Muzzle velocity is estimated. Very mild, pleasant to shoot.

I recently purchased a 4 5/8 Ruger Blackhawk and thus started loading cast bullets for it. my new pet load is 300 MP @ 18.6 grains (max load per Alliant) with non-magnum primers shooting at a projected 1686 fps. Have had zero issues with extraction or signs of over pressure.

with the 358091 [148gr wad cutter]
6 grs of unique and a sp mag primer is very fast and still accurate at least at the 21-25yds I normally shoot at.
7grs of that BE-86 [if you have some wouldn't] be too bad either, it works well under my 158gr rnfp's replacing the same load of Herco I've shot for years.

How old is your 2400? If it is Hercules 2400, here is a page from their 1992 reloader's guide that lists some max loads for cast WC.169052
