I for one would certainly give up that secret if the thing were used on me and I don't even know what a Caramilk is.

Your devise was patented in 1866 and several of these devises were used to hold shotgun barrels in alignment while being soldered during manufacture.

Motorcycle chain breakers don't have the angles like this does. Chain breaker is at 90deg

Thanks guys. I would like to see this contraption in use. Is seems the shotgun barrels would have to be very small for it to work. The large knurled pins are not adjustable.

Looking at the patent info and diagram (by Ethan Allen no less) the device above does not appear to be related. Or am I way off here?
