https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eS23MFusyuAFirst off, I like the concept, business casual, fits right in. But what a bunch off freaking idiots reporting on this! Yea, the problem is a legally carried weapon. What a douche, he definitely needs more testosterone in his life. And her saying you will blow your head off, I guess she didn't grasp the concept that you had to open it first.

Cell phone guns are not a new concept, we had warnings about these back in 04', but not as sleek.

Guns that look like things that aren't guns. Doesn't every generation have some iteration of these?

Indeed! Umbrella guns, cane guns, the old "pepper boxes", ring guns, it's all been done before. Heaven forbid we discuss the 3D printed guns with idiot liberal media fools like them!
Not a fan of .380, carried it back in the late '80's and got disillusioned pretty bad with the caliber with some real world experiences, same reason I don't tout the 9mm much anymore. .357mag, I like it better, but it's too big then.
I'll stick with my .357mag LCR tucked in a front pocket, or a FS 1911 in a Galco King Tuk is a lot more concealable, and comfortable, than many can imagine!

Gun, you don't need no stinking gun to conceal a weapon.

Ever since we left the garden of eden people have been looking to create better weapons to protect themselves.

Then there's stuff like this. The reverse of a sword umbrella. https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/736x/b1/79/0f/b1790f459adf5e5c4316dcd57fadbda0.jpg

That "phone derringer" has its merits. We don't know its built with the quality of a Remington R51 or it they actually did a good job yet and it has its limitation by design, not so pistol like ergonomics and only 2 rounds of .380 isn't much but this is one of the better disguised non-firearms looking firearms. This would be pretty clever for the person who wants something/anything but can't risk trying to conceal a normal, even small gun. In my case, I have to bend around, crawl around planes, lay on the floor, lean way over stuff, etc. Pretty normal to have your shirt pull up, expose your midriff. To hot to tuck in and wear a cover garment in summer. Any kind of waist carry won't work. Shoulder, boot, etc, that stuff is no good either. It pretty much limits the option to pocket carry. Even with that, by nature of our tasks, it can be very uncomfortable and still print an odd outline. Nobody would think twice of a print that looked like a phone. Even if someone caught an actual brief glimpse of it, it would probably go undetected. It has it's merits for certain applications. I would rather it be 9mm but I wouldn't mind looking at one if they pop up at the fun shop / fun show.

I have that sword. A old timer gave it to me. Not sure where he got it.

Yes all of us carry a cell phone, so would be easy to carry. Might stick out carrying 2 cell phones, so you could still have an actual phone to use.

Well...I wanted one for a brief moment then I began asking myself; would you be able to hit your target if it was more than 2 feet away. Then...how often in my life have I needed a gun closer than 3 feet away?

Oh, I bet it's a real tack driver. Then again, Jim Cirillo of the NYC stakeout squad, who survived around a dozen REAL gunfights, claimed almost all happened within "handshake" distance. Stuff seems to happen before you know it, or really are ready. I hope I never find out :)

Gun that looks like iPhone draws senator's ire

NEW YORK- A U.S. senator on Monday called on the federal Department of Justice and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives to investigate before a gun that looks like an iPhone comes to market.

Sen. Charles Schumer said the gun, being promoted online by a company calling itself Ideal Conceal, "is just a disaster waiting to happen."

On its website and Facebook page, Ideal Conceal has images that show something that looks like a phone in its case. But it can open into a .380 caliber gun. The site lauds its "high velocity, increased accuracy," and the weapon has a list price of $395.

"Smartphones are EVERYWHERE, so your new pistol will easily blend in with today's environment," the Ideal Conceal site says. Emails to Ideal Conceal were not answered.

Schumer said the gun could potentially be illegal, that a gun looking like an everyday item could violate federal law, which was why he was asking the Justice Department and the ATF to investigate.

He said it posed a threat to law enforcement if it was allowed to be sold, because they could find themselves in a situation where they wouldn't know if a suspect was pulling out a phone or a gun.

Schumer spoke out last year against a cell phone case that made a phone look like a gun.

On Monday, he said, "Just like toys that too much look like handguns should not be sold, handguns that look too much like toys should not be sold."

ATF had no comment, and the Department of Justice did not respond to an email seeking comment.
