I was given a 60# bucket of type. This was the first time I have actually seen this stuff. There is a few pieces of this164338

But it's mostly this164339

I was told it was linotype but to me it is clearly not linotype but monotype. I did a search on monotype and found that it could also be foundry type. Apparently foundry type has a notch in the bottom. I wouldn't say this has really a notch but there is a slightly rounded indention on the bottom end. It's very shallow.

Should I melt this down into ingots then add this to my cleaned range lead ingots or just add as is?

You are correct, the top pic is linotype and the bottom pic is probably monotype.
I wouldn't smelt it into ingots. Leave it as-is and just weigh it out as needed.

However, you will not know the composition without analysis. That stuff, as I have read on this site, gets reused and replenished.
