A couple of my favorite calibers and the firearms that use them.

Winchester Model 1892 caliber .25-20, manufactured 1914, with original Lyman tang sight. 65-grain RNFP gas check bullet, 9.0 grains IMR-4198. Five shot group at 50 yards measures about 1.2". Ready for small game!

.44-40 caliber: Marlin Model 1894, manufactured 1905, and Colt Single Action Army "Frontier Six Shooter", manufactured 1914. The challenge has been in working up a load that shoots well in both guns. Marlin groove diameter is .429, Colt is .426. Not wishing to overly stress either of these antiques I worked up a load of 6.5 grains Unique, large pistol primer, 200 grain RNFP .427" bullet. 111-year old rifle placed 5 shot group in about 1.6" at 50 yards. Colt groups a bit low and left at 50 feet, but not too bad for a 102-year old fixed sight handgun.

Thanks for posting the eye candy!

I especially like pictures of guns with targets they have shot.

It proves the "tool" is in current use and is not a "safe Queen."

Here's one back at 'cha, my WW1-era "Sewer Pipe" .45, before and after rebuild, rebarreling, recylindering, rebluing.
Since it had no collector value due to condition, I had John Taylor turn it into a .45 Colt carry gun.
