This is for anyone who wishes to join in Prayer for Our Nation, Our People, and Our Freedoms.....
I'll start out...you all join in...
I offer you ,Lord, Sincere and Heartfelt Prayers for this Nation. I ask for Love, Mercy, Forgiveness, Hope, Strength, Faith, Understanding, Wisdom, and Courage.

Heavenly Father I come to you on behalf of the USA, We are in dire need of revival throughout the land. As you told us in John Ch15 that the world would hate us as they hated you first, We see this depraved heart of fallen man trying to over throw the will and purpose of a Sovereign GOD. Father we come asking for healing of this Nation as only you are the Great Physician, We ask you Father to guide us in the elections that we will seek your wise and holy counsel to put our check on the right person. We ask all these things in JESUS name, AMEN!

Absolutely great idea. I suspect many if not most, or maybe even all of us have already been doing exactly that. And we may well have suspicions about our country's will and maybe even our ability to accept these prayers, but it's our due diligence to send them up anyway. It's all gonna' work out like it's all gonna' work out, and it'll all be according to God's plan, and not according to our petty and often vicious desires. The probability seems to be that we're in decline in a very serious and profane way, and that there's little chance of our nation responding. But that's where Faith comes in, isn't it? God can do all things, even bring us back from the brink of destruction. Whether we ALLOW ourselves to be saved or not is OUR little issue to decide. But if we "who call ourselves by (His) name" humble ourselves and pray for our nation AND TURN FROM OUR VICIOUS WAYS, I truly believe it CAN be saved by the simple Grace of God. How does it all work? I don't know. I probably even don't have the simple ability to understand it. But God does, and that's enough for me. It's a keystone of our Faith that God knows all and can work miracles, simply becaue He's supernatural and can do things we simply cannot. I have no doubt that God can and would heal our nation. I think we all recognize that our nation, or much of it at least, may well not WANT to be saved, lest it be to continue our vicious ways. But again, that simply doesn't matter to God. He can heal our nation even if only we Christians pray for it and turn from OUR vicious ways - and we DO have them, even the best among us. That is much harder, but I believe it's necessary if our nation is to be healed.
I'm not trying to pour cold water on the OP's suggestion at all. Just trying to keep our prayers within the confines within which they rightfully should be rendered according to the advice and instructions we've been given. And all too often, we forget that "AND turn from (our) vicious ways" thing. But it's necessary, and difficult.
This is where I remember G. K. Chesterton's words that Christianity has never been tried and found false. It's simply been found difficult, and left untried. As ol' Clint might say, "I reckon so."

Lord tho we live in the days of Ezekial there are many of us who are praying for revival in the United States of America, we relize the sin that has been allowed to creap in to the goverment. we are praying for an awaking and return to you Father the only hope we have to save this country and change the hearts of man. Father we are praying for your will to be done here in this Land

I know how you feel about our government but we are suppose to pray for our leaders to change their ways and follow GOD's law and word . It's not like your praying for them to continue the insane course we are on but to get this done we must have our Lord's help.

This thread slid off the opening page of the Chapel . We MUST keep it up , there is great need of it . Pray fervently for our leaders to conform and yield to GOD's will and law . We are bound in our in our flesh and faith to to do this and GOD will not bless a nation that has turned away from him . Please keep this thread alive !
Please try to pray here daily . Please write your prayer down so all can see your support . We need it , GOD requires it . WE know as Christians WE can make a difference ! GOD considers every prayer .
GOD help us . GOD lift the darkness from our land ! GOD hear and help us . Turn your face to our nation again and cast out the one who lives in darkness . Turn our people to you again . Show us the the way , come into peoples hearts that have forgotten you . Help our youth to find you GOD , help them . Give us guidance to do your will . Give us strength to accomplish your work . If you are not comfortable writing a prayer just add your amen or the word praying. God will hear your prayers and answer them. The only hope for our nation is in the prayers of His people not politics

Father, There is so much distrust of our Country by other countries. There is so much distrust of our Congress by Americans. This distrust is the result of the evil and hidden agenda's by many of our Congressional members. Please come forward and change their hearts to serve this great Country, our citizens, and the world in a selfless way. Amen

I agree , more speaking up needs be done.
I was raised as a Christian and it seemed like most were back then . Many different churches but all assembled for the same purpose . Lol , had a lot of Catholic kids in grade school , best friend was one of of em , name was Richard . I was glad we had a lot of Catholic kids because we got fish on Fridays ! Me and Richard got in trouble pretty regular , seemed like both our dad's had the same remedy/cure for that . We both ate at the others house and prayer was offered at both places . When your kids things sure are easy .
But growing up like that lulled us all into a false sense of security . We thought it was always going to be that way in our country , we took it for granted instead of being vigilant . Now we have a failing situation in our nation . Political corruption , drugs , welfare , socialists running for the highest office in the land . Perversion legalized and encouraged , back to racial hatred , our government restricting and spreading the anti Christ's message to our youth . Millions of babies killed in the womb as a matter of convenience for an uncaring mother . And much more .
Our government is trying to remove GOD from this place and from us . I think invoking Gods intercession is a good start , please pray on this , let our Lord know we are here .

I woke up early to be greeted by a wonderful sunrise. I thought " may goodness rise like this" ( alright, I don't put words together so well that early but you know the feeling.)
It is time for Goodness and God's Rules to rise again. I am the biggest sinner of you all but I know what I long for. Simple, calm days filled with Goodness and Love.
Lord, Please send us your Mercy for this Great nation once again.....Please Heal us....
Thats a thought , have a biggest sinner contest . I think you would have some stiff competition . I could be a contender . I already know the judge ?

Don't get too cocky about your sins, Boaz. If ol' St. Pete called himself "chief among sinners," where does that leave us ALL???? God seems to have upset both sides of the political spectrum's grandiose plans, and confounded their every efforts to create rationality out of what they have to work with. I think it's His hand TRYING to show us the idiocy we're practicing, that we might finally, even at this late date, turn away from our sins, and repent. But it really doesn't seem to be being heeded, or even cared about. Truly, we've become the most willful and insane people that have ever lived! And there's a price for that. Even among us CHristians, it seems we've become guided more by PCness than by actual Biblical principles. We've become haughty and think we have to have an answer to everything, and that saying "I don't know" is somehow an embarassment.
And yet, even now, God offers us a chance to repent! Is that evidence of a real and loving God, or what? Not one of us here would probably do that, but that shows at least one of the reasons He is God and we aren't, I guess. Ain't it funny how all that works?
As Christians we need to unite more in conversation , there is truly strength in numbers and purpose. GOD is with us and wants this country to return to it's past with basic moral values based on his law .
GOD please give our people the courage and conviction to uphold what they know is good in your eye's . Help all of us Lord to effect change in the leadership of this nation . Show our leaders the way back to you . Give them the determination to stop our destruction . In Christ's name I ask it . Amen

Since childhood we have allowed our governments (Federal, State, County, and Local) to steadily exclude You from their constituents. We have consistently slid backwards and I am praying that You bring us back in line with You and Your teachings. I long for a time when people are united and smiling and doing Your work. Lord, bless this nation, I pray, even though I know that collectively, we probably don't deserve it for the many things we have done that are clearly against what you taught us we should do. I pray for us anyway, on the simple basis of your kind and generous Grace. We need that Grace now more than ever, Lord, and I beseech you to bestow it upon us yet one more time. Thank you for all you've given us, Lord, and it's humbling to know that nothing we could ever do in our whole lives could merit even a tenth of what You have so generously bestowed upon us in our time. I pray for the young, Lord, who need a chance to do better than we have. In the name of Christ, my savior, my friend and my everything, I pray. Amen.

Yes. We all do. Christ is great, and those nations that follow Him seem to turn out Great, or at least prosper greatly. Seems like that ought to tell us something, but many today just aren't listening, it seems. But even so, we're told that if we who call ourselves by His name will just simply repent, and turn from our vicious ways, He will reach down His mighty hand and heal our nation. I think WWII is a good example of that. So many, many instances came out "right" for us that it could not possibly have been solely the efforts that the people made then. There HAD to be a guiding Hand that helped turn the tide just enough to let us earn what those wonderful men and women achieved.
Now, we're engaged in a different type of "war," but one that may well wind up being even more crucial. It seems that Lucifer has learned through the centuries, and gets smarter and more effective in leading us like we had rings in our noses. And too, we seem to have let down our guard against his actions. The prophesies indicate that at some point, he's going to have his heyday, but it'll be brief, because he has no sense of his own limitations, just as when he got himself thrown out of Heaven, and Christ will HAVE to return to once again save us from ourselves, and our willfulness.
My great sin in life is loving THIS world TOO much. I have been so awed by the woods and waters and all that grow in it, that it's hard for me to envision it all passing away. But with age comes some sense that if this was good, how much BETTER Heaven must be. I doubt I even have the ability to imagine what it will be like. All I know for sure is that whatever it is, the loving and benevolent God who made it will take care of me, and all the faithful, and I am so humbled by that that I can't describe it. Win, lose or draw here, we ALL win in the end. Can there be a greater miracle than this?
May this nation realize the error of its ways, and return to righteousness and sincerity. Amen.

Almighty God, Lord over all we are humbled that we have been given access directly to you. Lord I am unworthy of all the favor and goodness you have shown me. I approach You today to seek your help with our nation. Lord there are many who want You directing every aspect within the United States. We desperately need your help. I am asking you to show this whole nation who is really in charge of Your creation. Lord I ask Your mercy on the United States and use this nation again as your shining light in the world. Raise up voices louder and more convicted than those who so loudly proclaim tolerance as the way. Lead us to show love, compassion and truth to all. Heavenly Father in the last two presidents you gave us what we deserved for ignoring you and allowiing this country to go the direction it did.
Lord we have learned from the lesson and are praying you will forgive our aphathy and hear us as we pray for you to guide this election process to your will be done so this country can begin to undo the sinful things we Christians have allowed to happen.
Lord help those of us who care to awaken those who still have not repented and ask for your help. We know from history what happens to nations who allow the sinful things going on in our country and the judgement that falls on those nations. give us clear voices to wake up the people who are sitting sleeping. or who are to ignorant of the conscequences of sin to care.

Happy Thanksgiving to All - I'm giving thanks i have Cancer.
In fact, Every day is Thanksgiving when you have cancer -
Here's just a few reasons i'm grateful i have cancer-
I try to be thankful for the good and the bad, whatever comes my way.
If my neighbor wins the lotto, i don't cry "why not me?".
So, when i get cancer, i can't say "why me?" -
instead, i say 'why not me?- better it should be me, than for example
a young child or someone who could not deal with it.
Sometimes it is simply our turn, good and bad stop at everyone's door.
Life is a roller coaster, every dip is followed by an upswing.
Darkness is always followed by light. It's what makes life interesting.
If not for the ups and downs, we'd all be flat-lining zombies.
Everything that comes my way is a gift from God, and i need to remember
life is about what He wants, not what I want, and He knows better than I do.
Further, it's wrong for me to label what i want as 'good' and what i don't want as 'bad'.
It all comes from God, so by definition it is All good, and i simply can't comprehend His will.
I'm grateful I didn't get 'hit by the truck' and gone in an instant,
or die an old man, either way having lived a boring life.
i got a wake-up call, a chance to live life more fully,
to focus on priorities and not sweat the small stuff,
to clean up my loose ends so others don't need to,
to spend time with the people i love doing the important stuff.
This is not a first for me, i've come close many times in my younger days as Superman.
I'm grateful cancer is not a death sentence- it's only a threat, very treatable these days,
more like a chronic illness, it may never get me- i could still get 'hit by the truck'.
I'm thankful for cancer because it makes me appreciate the good days more.
Pain has been said to be simply weakness leaving the body.
Pain teaches us to empathize, to understand and relate, so we can help others.
One of my greatest joys is helping others, perhaps this is a lesson in preparation
for working with others at oh idk maybe St Jude's children's cancer hospitals.
Cancer develops character, defines my essence, brings out my strengths and weaknesses, the rest gets skimmed off the top.
Most importantly, Cancer strengthens my relationship with God.
Cancer helps develop humility, when self-reliance and defiance don't cut it,
and i have only One i can turn to for comfort and relief. I need that, or i get too big for my britches.
I have avoided this subject, but today i'm making this simple open and honest post,
i didn't want to burden anyone with my problems, and i didn't want anyone's sympathy.
People look at me funny with unanswered questions, maybe this post will answer a few,
and then we won't need to talk about it anymore, unless there's a good reason to do so.
So, take it for what it's worth, i'm just grateful i have cancer.

***, you are truly a man among men. FWIW, my sister in law found she had cancer. She was schizophrenic, and did not deal with it well at all, especially since the doctor who diagnosed her was as unprofessional and unconcerned as he possibly could have been. For several months, she was a basket case. Then, I think she simply got tired of all the histrionics, and started really thinking. This is unusual for schizophhrenics, of course, but she somehow mustered up the wherewithall to do it. One of the first things she determined was that if she was going to die (doc gave her 6 mo. max.), then she was going to live her life to the fullest extent possible UNTIL then. And that's what she set out to do. One thing about schizophrenics that many don't realize is that if they can ever find something to focus on, they can be very effective in addressing that thing. She also thought about her relationship with God, and made, I think for the first time, really, a real commitment to Him. This changed her life in ways that were truly amazing. She still had the impulses that so characterize schizophrenics, and the wild thoughts, but NOW she began resisting them, and using logic and reason to address them and anything else in her life. The transformation was absolutely amazing. She became humble, something that had been foreign to her for all her life. She wouldn't allow herself to be depressed. For the first time in her life, really, she was LIVING in the real and ultimate sense of the world. This was a most humbling thing just to watch progress and be brought to fruition.
Having been given 6 months to live, max, she actually got over 6 years. And when she finally did pass on, it was as gentle as it could possibly have been. I couild almost hear Christ saying, "Well done, good and faithful servant."
People like you and her are SO crucial in showing the rest of us how a REAL Christian deals with adversity. Thank you, sir, for the inspiration and confirmation of our faith and its power. I will be praying for you. We can't afford to lose folks like you this early! Your story makes me think of that song, "You Light Up My Life."

Many have come to realize and now hate our former vicious ways, our ignorance and blasphemies. Lord, I ask you now to forgive us our sins as we repent and try to do better. Help us to teach our children that they might fight Your battles here in their time. Give them the simple time to do Thy will. Lord, I know you are shaking this nation. It has turned from it's roots and is headed down the same road that Sodom trod.
Lord if possible I pray that people awaken from this evil dream. That they turn off their TV's, tablets, laptops and smartphones and listen to you. I pray that the evil that comes can be moderated or abated by a spirit of repentance sweeping the land from shore to shore.
Lord I also accept that most likely this will not happen. That people will refuse to awake, that they will refuse to turn off the noise and listen to that still small voice inside them. I pray that they will let go of their pride, fall on their knees and humble themselves before you Lord. I pray that they will beg for redemption in time. That they will stop their sinning and ask for the blood of the Lamb to wash their sins away.
As in all things Lord I ask this, but I also accept that it is not my will, but thine be done.

Dale, you really know how to watch a movie or read a book, and relate it all back to the Bible and its principles. I really like that in a man. Shows he's really paying attention as he goes through life and each day, and is always seeking to find Truth where most folks don't think to even look for it. Thanks. Truth is really everywhere we look, if we'd but simply see it. I discovered this too late in life, I think, but the more I've seen, the more I've been impressed by this simple and universal principle. Thanks. It matters.

Guide us when we err, back to the straight way, that leads to you. Heal our nation from the sins we've committed so flagrantly and willfully, and forgive us, I pray. Lord, I opened the news to a club shot up in Florida. Sin and anger are in control of people. Lord help us pray more, witness more, become involved more in changing the character of the the nation back to You Lord. Change will not happen till we take the message out of the church and into the streets. We have set and waited for the lost to come to us when you declared go into the world with the message. Lord we the church are responsible for the decline of America and we are still sitting waiting.

Lord this nation is falling deeper into sin and nobody seems to care that much. Nobody wants to stand up for what they believe in. Christian should be standing up and telling people about You. We should not be ashamed to be one of your children. We should not be ashamed to believe in you. We should not be ashamed to have you in our lives and to have the eternal gift of salvation that you so gracefully give to us. People now worship their televisions and their cell phones, but hardly none of them find time in their daily lives to just say a two minute prayer because they would rather be on Facebook. They would rather spend that time on social media than taking to their Father, the One who created them. Social media is taking over and evil thought are too. I pray that You deliver our nation from this terrible end that we are so close to. People now are accepting the people who think that woman shall lie with woman and man shall lie with man when You tell us in Your perfect word that that is not true for what Yous say is the truth and nobody can prove it is not. For if Your word is not the truth, then what is truth? There are many things wrong with our nation today and most of it is because us Christians won't stand up for what we believe in. We either are on the side of the Church or the side of the World. How about we just get of the fence, break down the fence, and head straight to you? You are our Father and we know that you will take care of us. If people spent as much time talking to You as they do their best friend, then I believe that our nation would not be in half the trouble we are in right now. If people spent as much time talking to their best friend as they do with You then they wouldn't have that best friend very long. I pray that Christians, including myself, wake up and realize that we are in a great deal of trouble and that the only way to correct most of it is to run to you. I pray that our nation gets better and that we are able to be better. I pray all of these things in Jesus's name, Amen.

All the things that we think mean SO much to us now - reputation, respect, money, power, influence, wealth, things that make everything EASY for us .... will one day be a total non-factor, and the things you cite, plus a few more essentials that'll last for all eternity, WILL matter .... a LOT! The only hard part is putting that realization to use, and we tend to SO easily tire and fall by the wayside, when really, nothing is preventing us from staying on course except that we simply tire of being "good," when we've defined good all wrong, by making it out to be the most boring and uninteresting thing we could! REAL Christianity is as exciting and challenging and frustrating as it's ever been, IF we really PRACTICE what we've been taught, and that we so often preach. I think you hit the nail squarely on the head. We need to look at ourselves for any real explanation for why our nation and our world in in the shape it's in today. If we'd done 1/10th as good as we like to think we've done, how could our world be the way it is today? Our message is the most solid and rational message anyone has ever had to deliver to our fellow man. And yet, we shy away from doing our due diligence to the one who has Redeemed us all! We need to get up off our arses and DO what we were charged to DO. That's my take on it, and some will disagree, I know, but I believe to the marrow of my bones that I'm right, even if it doesn't please me to admit it. "For all have fallen short of the glory of God," and St. Pete may have called himself "chief among sinners," but I guarantee, I can run him one FINE race in that one! I suspect most of us could?
It frustrates me to no end to see good, more knowledgable Christains than me, sitting and letting the nay-sayers and unbelievers take over where we should rightfully predominate! I've had enough of it! I'll risk being wrong and making a fool and an **** of myself for the sake of my Lord ANY day. And sometimes I do just that. But for me, it's kind'a like the old joke about the farmer who drove up with his livestock trailer, and let his new, huge, mean and very angry bull into the meadow with the rest of the herd. It immediately dashed out to a prominent open spot, snorting like a freight train and pawing huge chunks of grass and dirt up, sending them flying in the air! Two young bulls looked up, saw this huge behemouth, snorting and scratching, and their eyes opened wide with instant fear! Then, one of them nervously walked forward, and started snorting and pawing its mightiest, which was still pretty pitiful. The first bull shouted out to him, "Are you CRAZY? What are you doing? Trying to get yourself killed????" Then the brave young bull looked back with a wink, and said, "Nope. I just want THAT bull to know I'M a bull TOO!"
And that's sometimes the situation we all get put in from time to time. We may not be quite adequate to the cause at hand, but if we're all that's willing to cast our hand in the game, then the right thing to do, no matter the trepidation and difficulty, and no matter the "likely outcome," the right thing to do whenever our faith is put to the test is to fight the good fight, not look for excuses to turn and run away. Christ never ran away when He wanted to. Should we do any less for Him?
Lord our people need your guidance . Help turn the force that leads us away from you . We have been lied to , mislead and deceived by the ones that we have put in the charge of our country . We have failed to be vigilant in keeping your word and law . We do not have leaders that can be trusted and the options of those to replace them seem no better . Lead us and give heed to those that would have us in darkness . Help us . In Christ's name I ask it . Amen

Dear, precious Lord, on this, the eve before our 240th year as a greatly blessed and challenged nation, I praise your Holy name, and fall on my knees to worship Thee, and I give thanks for all that you have so wondrously and freely bestowed on us.
Nobody today goes hungry in this land, lest it be those who are controlled by your evil adversary in an act of willfulness against Thee and all you stand for.
We have cool inside when it's hot outside, and heat within when it's freezing out.
We have good food on our tables, and can feat if and when we get ready for it.
We have good clothing on our backs, and we get about in wondrous vehicles that speedily get us from one place to another.
We have doctors to help us when we ail, in addition to your wondrous Healing Hands.
We have wonders of technology that you have allowed us, to communicate whatever we wish to.
And so much of it, Lord, we use to our everlasting DIS-credit! Forgive us, I pray, Lord, and open our eyes and hearts, that we might see more clearly, and do Thy will instead of our own, so that our nation might be saved once again.
Thou hast saved us before, many, many times. We look at the history of our fathers' and grandfathers' war, WWII, and see Thy mighty hand at many turns and points, where only You saved us from ourselves and our willful foolishness.
I pray, Lord, that Thou wouldst once again, save us from ourselves, that Thy might and honor might be restored to us as a nation, and that Thy Word might survive and be spread more in the manner You originally intended for it to be.

Amen to all the above! Christ is always in control. We're being direly challenged. We are generally the only "hands" He has to work with, but sometimes, our hands are not enough. Mighty is your power, and powerful is your hand and heart. Instill in this leader, Lord, all that we need in order to have a great revival of our faith throughout this land, Lord, I pray. Lord, some in this nation have allowed themselves to be consumed with hate. So much so, that they have come to murder innocent people and police officers. Lord, these people are being led by another entity, and certainly not by Thee. We thank you for the strength to endure these things without losing our own faith. We thank you for knowing that it'll all be put right when you come back again. We thank you for all the great people who go into law enforcement, knowing it's one of the hardest things they can do, and that it doesn't typically pay a great deal. Bless these good folks, Lord, and their families, and particularly those whose lives have been taken in the recent times, and all for nothing but hate. Lord, send us a leader, a great one, who can communicate with all people in this land, and quell our fears and assumed differences. I pray that you would send us such a leader so that people can return to their natural good senses, and understand each other, rather than always seeming to find ways to separate ourselves.
Our present leaders seem to promote and thrive on this kind of thing. Speak to them Lord, whether it'll change them or not. We know you gave us all a free will. Please let these things lead us to exercise that free will to our advantage and to your glory. Forgive us when we fail to use it wisely, and lead us to correct ourselves daily, and to think before we speak or act. Lord, I pray you would heal our land. We who call ourselves by your name have fallen far short of the advice and admonitions you left us. Help us return to your consistently good advice and instruction, that our children and grandchildren might inherit from us something like what we inherited from our forefathers. I honestly don't know what it would take to wake our people up except through GOD's intervention . It grows worse by the day and seemingly not but a few even see it . Killings , bombings , mass shootings , no jobs , welfare state , apathetic youth , focus on getting a bigger tv , obsession over the latest cell phone.......... . Mislaid priorities , lack of responsibility , no communication skills , the list goes on and on , we have truly been dumbed down . GOD is not mentioned in everyday conversation anymore .

Yes, definitely! But that's why we were admonished to "Lift up thine eyes." I read ahead to the end of the book, and no matter what happens, it's all going to wind up being rectified and it ends with our living happily everafter. Can't have much more assurance than that.
All I pray for now, is that God might bless this nation so that my grandkids might be able to enjoy half the blessings and pleasures of this life that I have in my time. I pray God will send us a great leader, and inspire and inhabit him, to lead us to a return to our one-time prominence in the world, and a return to being the only real super-power on earth. If we get our economy, social structure and our devotion to God worked out, the rest should easily fall into place, with God's blessings. I pray that the Lord will send us such a leader. He can even use a non-believer to His benefit! His ways and powers are mysterious to us and have no limit. We often fail to remember that. But, that's just what we do, it seems, doesn't it?

Just a thought... The average guy doesn't know how to fight all this BUT there is a way. We fund the other side every time we buy a product from them. We fund the other side every time we watch their news. STOP IT! You know who they are or can find out. Get your news off the net. Stop buying their products. No hate involved here. Don't hate them but stop feeding them your money....
100% agreement . We are already doing it but no one to the best of my knowledge has a comprehensive accurate list to go by . We are trying .

Yes. We as a people have lost our faith, it seems, because life isn't as easy or enjoyable all the time as PC theology says it's supposed to be. We've absorbed that theology even though we know it's not true. This realm isn't heaven, and it's FAR from it. It's a trail of tears, all too often, and we've lost our grit in dealing with it as such. Each generation in this nation has faced grave situations and dangers. They handled it. Now, we just turn on the TV with our remote, and expect the world to have been made "ready" FOR us, instaed of BY us. And we won't even pray for the nation. Is it thus, then, any great miracle that our nation has fallen like it has? Is it any real mystery WHY it's headed downhill? It's us. All of us. Each one of us has had a part in bringing ourselves to this point, and personally, I'm ashamed of my part in it. We've been lazy, and expected "George" to do what needed to be done, while we did what we WANTED to, that brought us temporary pleasure.
That's a hard fact to face, but it's the way it really is, whether we want to face it or not.
May God grant us to look in the mirror and see ourselves as we are, instead of as we want to be seen. We've been given good instructions and advice from above. We just don't use it. We might actually fail, or look foolish, so we fail to act, or even to speak up so much of the time. We "shake the dust" whenever we face a challenge, and don't want to address it. Thus, evil has flourished because nobody was there who was willing to counter it. It doesn't take a perfect person to challenge evil. It just takes someone who has some knowledge and some real, earnest willingness to address evil. Christ can and does provide the rest, if we'll just cast some bread upon the waters for him TO bless.
Heavenly Father, please, give us the courage of our convictions, and let us not worry about how we might look or be regarded, but let us engage our enemies wherever and whenever we find them, and thus, counter evil as best we can. Bless our efforts and words, that they might be taken as meant, irrespective of whether the ones to whom they are addressed benefit from them or not. Let those who are standing aside hear them, and be moved by your boundless Love and Good Will toward us. You've told us that you've given us foolishness, to confuse the wise, good, to confound the evil. Let us have the simple courage of our beliefs and convictions, and go forth and speak for you, even if we don't quite do it perfectly. Let us learn as we go how to do it better, that you might be glorified, and not us, for not one among us can be anything but humbled before you.
Help us to count for something, Lord, and become wise through following the good advice and instruction you gave us. And forgive us when we err, and keep spurring us onward toward service to thy Glory and Honor. You have promised us that if we simply do this, you will heal our nation. Let us simply do our part, Lord, en masse, that evil might be reined in, and thy Word and Glory perpetuated and appreciated among men again. Still our fears and uncertainties, for in you is our only real hope. Lead this country to a new beginning, Lord, as you so graciously did for each of us when we came to honor and follow you. Praise be to thy holy name, forever. Amen.
